We teach piano lessons primarily - with an enthusiastic, low-keyed positive approach.
We teach beginning through advanced lessons. An emphasis is placed on developing the student's creative power and musicality, along with proper technique, counting and analysis of the music.
Along with the traditional piano methods we utilize modern teaching techniques, including the use of world percussion instruments to teach rhythm. We also make appropriate use of synthesizers and electronic keyboards.

Mitchell Odom is the founder and principal instructor at The Academy. Mitch believes that music should be fun, interesting and rewarding. You will benefit from his positive outlook and energetic yet low key approach. Encouragement, compliments and humor make your learning experience fun and fruitful.
Mitch makes music theory fun and shows you how it is applied to help you learn pieces - and also to write your own. You'll learn all the important basics - including counting, note reading, proper technique and artistic interpretation.
As soon as possible you'll learn the kind of music you really like. You will really enjoy it – and excel and strive to learn even more. And after all, this is why we study music lessons – to enrich our lives and give us happiness.
