We teach beginning through advanced piano lessons, guitar lessons and drum lessons in most styles of music. We teach children and adults. Our teachers have an enthusiastic, low-keyed positive approach.
We develop each student's creative power and musicality - along with technique, counting and musical analysis. We also instill confidence in our students, and make the lessons fun and interesting. Our teachers use traditional and innovative teaching techniques to achieve the best results.

meet the teachers

Mitchell Odom teaches piano and is the Director of the academy. He believes that music should be fun and rewarding. He has a positive outlook and energetic yet low key approach.
Mitch's encouragement, compliments and humor make your learning experience fruitful. And after all, isn't this is why we have music lessons – to enrich our lives and help bring us happiness?
Marc Angel is our drum teacher. Marc teaches drum lessons with a passion! He has been teaching for several years, and has been a drummer since he was eleven years old. Marc is a seasoned performer and can be seen playing in local area clubs.
As Marc puts it, his goal is to "pass along the passion and mind opening experience of learning music."
Jim Ellis teaches electric guitar, acoustic guitar, 7-string guitar and double bass. Jim’s focus is improvisational music. He has played in notable big bands, combos, and performed extensively as a solo guitarist. Jim earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music/Arts from the University of Maine, and a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern Maine. His teachers have included Walter Namuth, Gary Wittner, Butch Warren, Steve Novosel, and Joe Cohn. An enthusiastic teacher with over ten years experience, Jim conveys a variety of picking style methods: fingerstyle, flat pick, and hybrid picking techniques while promoting a thorough understanding of the fingerboard and music theory concepts.
